Presidents Changeover
A new president will be leading a town’s Rotary club during its golden jubilee celebration year.
Marie Jarvis is at the helm of Hunstanton and District Rotary Club following the club’s changeover event, attended by around 40 people.
She received the chain of office from outgoing president Hilary Farrell to warm applause from Rotarians including those who came specially from Lynn’s Trinity and Holt clubs.

There was a garden party atmosphere with a buffet and music by Iryna Oliinyk on the piano.
Marie’s chosen charity for her term in office is First Responders, who co-ordinated by the ambulance service, respond to emergencies within their community.The club has seen an upsurge in membership so far this year but newcomers are always welcome. Regular meetings are held at Heacham Manor Hotel and social meetings include invited speakers.The club has a busy summer schedule of events, the next one being Burnham Market Craft Fair on August 15.

The Burnham Market Craft Fair will return for its 50th year at The Green on Saturday, August 15th, where a wide range of hand-crafted goods will be on sale. The first event was in 1976 and has been held annually ever since (Covid excepting!).
The fair was the brainchild of village residents the late Princess Diana's aunt, Lady Margaret Douglas-Home and Anne Cringle. From those early days it now attracts thousands of visitors and has quickly established itself as one of the most popular craft fairs not only in Norfolk but the surrounding counties.
This year being the 50th year you can expect to see lots of gold bunting and golden decorated stalls to celebrate this special year. Profits from the fair are donated to local charities and groups. The organisers of this exciting event are Hunstanton and District Rotary, who are themselves celebrating their golden anniversary of 50 years of giving service in the community.
Visitors to Burnham Market will be able to choose from over 100 stalls holders coming together from all over the region, selling a wide range of goods. There are stalls new to the market and stalls that have been coming for over 15 years. Many of the traders are displaying jewellery, artwork, ceramics and gifts made by themselves. These are accompanied by crafted leather work and textiles, soaps and fragrances, and other natural skin products; other stalls offer various types of woodwork products, some with demonstrations. Garden sculptures are among some of the unique products with ceramic sculptures and upcycled kitchen and furniture.
Parking will be available at the playing field in Station Road (£5) or at the pay and display car park in North Street.
The village restaurants, cafes and pubs will also be open throughout the day and there will be food and drink stalls offering ice cream, a hog roast, artisan foods and more.
Market traders will be promoted via an App tagged onto the Burnham Market App providing trader contact details and products both before and after the market day.
